Do NOT Automate My Report!
In my early career, I was a programmer at a big company, and I wrote a program that would create a report that would save the VP of Ops a lot of time.
I was called to his office, expecting to receive praise and thanks, and I was colorfully handed my ass on a platter.
You see, filling out the report by hand was a weekly ritual that helped him really see and absorb what the numbers were telling him.
